LEARNING FROM JOSEPH
INTRODUCTION
Several things we can learn from the attitude of Joseph, Mary's fiancé (Matthew 2:19-23).
CONTENT
1. Focus on God's interests (Matthew 2:19).
When Joseph was commanded to flee to Egypt, Joseph did not contradict God because Joseph put God's interests first.
Bethlehem and Egypt were hundreds of miles apart. Joseph didn't hesitate; he left immediately, determined to fulfill God's will.
Sometimes our mind gets in the way of God's work. Put God's interests first, and God can save us when a threat is coming (Psalm 56:13).
2. Focus on managing responsibilities (Matthew 2:22).
Joseph knew that he had a Divine Advisor. He was not influenced by others, but focused on his responsibilities. Let us focus on what has been entrusted to us as housewives, heads of households, or children in the family. Focus on our duties and responsibilities.
Work with all your heart and hands, so that you are not dependent on others. God can open a way for us.
3. Focus on obedience.
Obedient people are very pleasant to be around, but disobedient people are very disappointing.
Joseph was obedient to God, even though there were challenges. However, those who are obedient are always prioritised by God, as demonstrated by Joseph's attitude of humility and willingness to yield.
CONCLUSION
Like Joseph, we will be wise people and spared by God when bad things happen to us.
