INTRODUCTION
The world often offers a false sense of happiness, depending on circumstances—when we succeed, we are happy; but when we fail, we’re getting despaired. But being a Christian offers deeper than mere happiness, namely, the true joy found in discipleship.
CONTENT
1. The Beauty of the Character Formation Process (Romans 8:29)
To be a disciple means to be willing to be taught and be molded into the image of Christ.
a. Although the formation process (God's discipline) may feel painful at times, the end result is a noble, loving, patient, and humble character.
b. Jesus does not leave us in our old, destructive nature, but transforms us into beautiful people.
2. The Beauty of the Call to Make Disciples (Matthew 28:19-20)
We not only receive blessings, but we are also sent out to be a blessing ourselves.
Being a disciple who makes disciples brings the highest inner satisfaction, as our lives become an instrument of God to help others know the love of Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:15-20a).
