INTRODUCTION

God not only calls us to be saved, but more than that:  to live a life that is more and more like Christ (1 Thessalonians 4:7). God wants us to live in holiness (1 Peter 1:15-16).

CONTENT

Becoming holy or like Christ requires a process that we must continually work on:

1.      Distance yourself from all evil.

  • God commands us to distance ourselves from sin (1 Corinthians 6:18-20a) and also to “…keep away from idolatry!” (1 Corinthians 10:14).

  • This also includes love of money: “For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.” (1 Timothy 6:10a).

  • If we just keep quiet, none of this will be taken away from us, but will actually come closer.

2.      Pursuing spiritual things, especially the truth.

What should we strive for? “Righteousness, worship, faithfulness, love, patience and gentleness…” (1 Timothy 6:11).

  • Aren't there still many Christians who take worship hours lightly or consider them insignificant? They consider worship to be unimportant for all sorts of reasons.

  • Stay away from all kinds of sins that are polluting our lives and instead pursue the truth, for the truth will set our lives free.

3.      Living by the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:25).

If we live by the Spirit, let us also be led by the Spirit. For the Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth (John 16:13). Therefore, we must all be filled with the Holy Spirit.

CONCLUSION

There will be a revival in our lives and around us.
