THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS LED THE CHURCH OF GOD TO BE A WITNESS TO THE WORLD

INTRODUCTION

The Holy Spirit gives the Church of God power, wisdom and courage to proclaim the gospel and to be a witness of Christ. This witness is not just about words, but also about a lifestyle that reflects the love of Christ.

CONTENT

Some important issues for the Church at present:

1.      The Holy Spirit gives power to testify (Acts 1:8).

  • The Holy Spirit is the one who gives the Church of God power and courage to testify about Christ to the world.

  • The book of Acts of the Apostles describes how the apostles, who were once fearful, were filled with the Holy Spirit and given courage to preach the gospel (Acts 2:14-19).

  • The power of the Holy Spirit also enables the Church of God to overcome obstacles and challenges in proclaiming the gospel (Romans 8:26).

2.      The Holy Spirit guides and directs the Church of God (John 16:13).

  • The Holy Spirit is a Helper, who helps the Church of God understand God's Word and apply it in daily life (John 14:26).

  • The Church of God is called to be led by the Holy Spirit in all aspects of life, including witnessing (Galatians 5:25).

  • The Holy Spirit also gives wisdom and insight on how to effectively witness to others.

3.      The Church of God is witnessing through her life.

  • Witnessing is not just about speaking, but also about living according to the teachings of Christ.

  • The Church of God is to witness to Christ through holy, loving, and joyful living.

  • Good deeds, love, and service at Church of God are part of an effective witness.

4.      The Holy Spirit opens the heart to receive the Gospel:

  • The Holy Spirit works in the hearts of people to open their hearts for the truth of the gospel.

  • Salvation is the work of the Holy Spirit and the church is called to proclaim the gospel in the hope that others will receive Christ.

  • The Church of God must also pray that the Holy Spirit will open the hearts of unbelievers.

CONCLUSION

Continue witnessing so that the whole world will be saved. World Conquest (John 3:16-17).
