GOD'S FIRE
INTRODUCTION
Each of us needs God's fire. Receive and keep God's fire burning in our lives (Leviticus 6:9, 12-14).
CONTENT
Each of us must understand this and build an altar so that God's fire continues to burn in our lives. In the New Testament, the altar is no longer built as something tangible, but its essence must not be lost.
The essence of the altar consists of 3 things, namely:
The altar is always the place where God meets with His people (1 Kings 18:30-39).
Do not build an altar as a routine place and religious habit. Is our altar currently filled with our encounter with God, or is it merely liturgical or routine?
There is nothing wrong with spiritual routine and discipline, but the essence of the encounter with God must not be lost. Therefore, build a living encounter with God, accompanied by hunger and thirst for Him and the truth.
The altar is a place where sacrifices are offered (2 Kings 7:1-2).
Without the offering/sacrifice there is no fire. The fire of God descends upon the offering/sacrifice; God's fire does not touch an empty altar.
Do understand how to make sacrifices. Sacrifice is what God is asking of us, not what we want to give. If we are able to give something, it is certainly pleasant.
Sacrifice is not God’s way of making our lives difficult, but God is an expert who can see beyond what we can give. When God asks something of us, it is not because He wants to make things difficult for us, but because He wants to bless our lives, and His goodness continues to pursue us throughout our lives (Example: the widow of Zarephath in 2 Kings 17:10-16).
The altar where we give thanks (Psalms 116:17-19).
The altar is not a place to hang a wish list, but to show gratitude. God is able to give us everything we need.
CONCLUSION
Therefore, build an altar in the right way, a place for our meeting with God.
Keep His fire burning in our lives, and keep it burning at all times.
