REVIVAL LEADS US TO LOOK UP TO GOD
INTRODUCTION
The psalmist says that his only hope is in the Lord alone.
CONTENT
1. Looking up to the LORD means that we are called to focus our spiritual eyes only on God.
In the busyness and challenges of life, we often tend to focus on our daily problems and needs. But this psalm is reminding us to look up to the Lord as our source of life and guide (just as Mary did in Luke 10:36-42).
2. Remain obedient and faithful to the truth of His Word.
A servant who is looking at his master’s hand, is showing respectful dependence and obedience. We also should in the same way, look up to the Lord as a wise and loving Leader by submitting to Him and obeying Him. This also will become evidence of our loyalty to the Lord. Just like the eyes of a faithful servant looking at his master’s hand, we are reminded to be faithful and trusting the Lord completely in every aspect of our lives (Psalms 123:1,2).
In this prayer we express our faith and hope in the Lord, confessing that only He can provide true help and grace in our lives. As believers we learn to be completely dependent on the Lord, to entrust our lives to Him and to continually look up at Him in all situations.
CONCLUSION
When we turn to the Lord, we will find comfort, hope, and strength to face challenges.
