THE LORD JESUS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR IN MULTIPLICATION

INTRODUCTION

God wants us all to experience multiplication and addition in every aspect of life (John 6:1–11).

An increase does not necessarily mean multiplication, but multiplication certainly involves an increase.

 

CONTENT

The principle of multiplication that we must understand is connected to this message from God:

1.     It requires something that we must have first (a multiplication factor) (John 6:9).

“There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?”

  • In a multiplication formula, at least two numbers are needed to multiply. If there is only one number, no multiplication takes place. These two numbers are called 'factors', while the result of their multiplication is called the 'product'. If one of the factors is zero, the product is also zero. No matter how large a number is, the result will always be zero if one of the factors is zero.

  • The same principle applies to the story of the "five loaves and two fish." Remember that of the two necessary factors, one comes from God and the other must come from us, the believers. If the believers are not willing to give anything or feel unable to give anything—in other words, zero—then the product will certainly be zero and no growth will take place. 

  • The point, therefore, is how much we are willing to spend on multiplication of what we have, as a "multiplication factor".

2.     It requires God's approval or God's involvement in everything we give (John 6:11).

Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks to God for them, and distributed them to those present. He did the same with the fish, as much as they wanted..

  • There is a question: if Andrew (the disciple of Jesus who found a boy with five loaves and two fish) had not given them to Jesus, but had distributed them immediately, would thousands of people have had enough of the bread and fish and even have twelve baskets left over? Of course not. From this we understand that multiplication will only take place if we truly offer it to God or if we involve God in it first

  • No matter how small, how poor, or how ordinary it looks, if Jesus is involved, a multiplication will take place in quality and quantity.

 

CONCLUSION

Let us surrender ourselves to God or allow God to use us for the benefit of the Heavenly Kingdom, then God will begin to multiply what we now have, in quality, quantity, and function.
