BECOMING A DISCIPLE OF CHRIST (4)

INTRODUCTION

We must be able to grasp God's vision for His Church (Matthew 28:19) and His strategy (Luke 6:12-13).

In the midst of this strong and destructive current, Joshua, as Moses' disciple, stood against the tide of the times (Joshua 24:15).

When people in the last days love themselves more than anything else, God's people are called to build a resolution that goes against the grain (2 Timothy 3:1–2).

CONTENT

In the midst of this strong and destructive current, like Joshua, who was a disciple of Moses, He resisted the flow of time.

1.     AGAINST THE CURRENTS OF SELF-CENTRICISM, THE CALL OF FAITH RESOUNDS IN THE END TIMES

Difficult times are characterized by people placing themselves at the center of everything.

Joshua learned that through true faith, we step down from the throne and place the Lord back at the center.

2.     OBEDIENCE IS ALWAYS THE OPPOSITE OF COMFORT.

The tides of time urged people to seek an easy and secure life.

Joshua chose the narrow path—the path of obedience, often lonely, but true (Joshua 24:14).

3.     GOING AGAINST THE CURRENTS STARTS AT THE FAMILY ALTAR

In times of corruption, Joshua initiated reform not from the crowd, but from the family.

When the family is restored, faith will endure difficult times (Joshua 24:15).

4.     LIVING AGAINST THE CURRENTS IS A SIGN OF MATURITY.

Mature faith isn't measured by popularity, but by faithfulness.

Joshua had proven that strong faith can endure, even in difficult times (Hebrews 11:30).

CONCLUSION

As disciples of Christ, we must reject a faith that is focused on ourselves.

Times may become more difficult, but an obedient faith will never become outdated.
