THE JOY IN REVIVAL (2)
INTRODUCTION
Psalm 126 teaches us that God can use our past to face current and future crises.
CONTENTS
Lessons we can learn from Psalm 126:1-6.
The past is a lesson
For the Israelites, the bitter experience of living in exile was a valuable lesson that life in sin is full of suffering. Sin will lead us to death, but returning to God brings revival to life (Luke 15:22-24).
The present is hope
Jesus Christ is the foundation of our hope, and it is only in Him that we have hope. Revival or restoration can happen.
How is it possible for the dry riverbeds in the Negev to be restored? It is impossible, but that is hope. Hope gives us strength and optimism to face everything in our lives.
The future is certain
We can see in verses 5 and 6 the words ‘will’ and ‘certainly’. Although sowing seeds requires tears, there is certainty. We may also hear many success stories, even stories from our parents, who may have faced many struggles and challenges in the beginning, but were able to overcome them all and achieve success.
CLOSING
We only receive certainty in life from Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.
