BACK TO THE START (3)
Let us read from Acts 20:32.
The Word of God are no ordinary words. The Word of God creates faith, builds character, transforms circumstances, gives joy, resists temptation, cleanses the mind, and guarantees our eternal future (John 8:31).
Three things to start with God’s word:
Accepting His authority
The Bible must be the standard of authority in our lives. As a compass that is able to show direction, as an advisor that can be heard when making wise decisions, and a benchmark to evaluate everything (2 Timothy 3:16).
Filling the mind with the truth of God’s Word
There are 5 ways we can achieve it, that is by reading, researching, remembering, meditating and doing it.
Reading the Bible every day will keep us within the reach of God’s voice. For this reason the Lord ordered the kings of Israel to always keep a copy of His word near them (Deuteronomy 17:19).
Seriously meditating on God’s truth is the key to answered prayer and the secret for a successful life (Joshua 1:8).
Applying the principles of God’s Word
We must be the doers of the Word. As Jesus said, “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24)
Believe that the purpose of the word of God is to purify, to reveal motivations, to show our mistakes and expects us to change.
Meditate on this sentence, “The Bible is not given to increase our knowledge, but to change our lives.”
