HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS TO BE A DISCIPLE OF JESUS
INTRODUCTION
Many Christians simply want to be "followers" (observers), but Jesus calls us to be "disciples" (learners/active followers). Becoming a disciple of Jesus is not a burden, but rather one of the greatest blessings and joy of human life.
CONTENT
Let us take a look at the beauty of it:
1. How wonderful it is to have a good Shepherd (Matthew 11:28-30)
The world forces us to carry our burdens alone. But as disciples of Jesus, we walk with the Master.
The beauty of it is: We have a God who cares for us, who carries our burdens, and who gives us inner peace. Disciples of Jesus don't walk alone; they experience God's perfect presence.
2. The Beauty of a Fruitful Life (John 15:5)
A life without Jesus is often meaningless.
The beauty of it is: being a disciple of Jesus means clinging to the true vine. Our lives will bear the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace) that influences others. Our lives have an eternal purpose; we don't live just for ourselves.
3. The Beauty of Assurance of Salvation and Identity (1 Peter 2:9)
As disciples, we are called out of the darkness into His marvelous light.
The beauty of it is: we no longer live in fear of death or judgment.
Our identity changes, and we become children of God, His beloved people, entitled to the Kingdom of Heaven.
CONCLUSION
Discipleship is a journey of transformation into the image of Christ.
