The miracle at Cana

19-feb-2012| The Miracle at Cana|Goal

In connection with our theme from Micah 2:13, let us read John 2:1-11. Because the Lord Jesus was invited to the wedding, there was a miracle.

This time we will study the meaning of the word "Cana" or "Qanah".

There are three spiritual meanings of the word "Qanah"
1. An arrow-head
Our lives are like an arrow. When it is not given into the hands of the Lord, it is the devil or us who will shoot it off, with the result that it misses its target making our lives in vain.
The Lord Jesus wants our arrow hits target so that we will see victory, become an instrument in the hand of God being a blessing to others, and that we will grow to be like Jesus (Hebrews 12: 2-3).

2. A thatched roof
All things that are built by man are before the eyes of God no more than a thatched hut, which is vulnerable, inflammable, useless and nondurable. Our lives, our family and also our businesses, will become rather vulnerable if we don’t let God have a say in it. That's why those verses in John 15:4-5 remind us that we can’t do much without Him, that even our plans will turn idle.

3. Musical instrument
Life of a human being is like a musical instrument, his course of life like a master piece in his own hand. Without God many songs of life will become songs of limitations, sorrow and so on, such as the case at the wedding in Cana where wine has been running out. Therefore, let God, through His Spirit, lead us in words we speak, in things we do and in the life attitude we take on, so that we may become a blessing to many, and that our lives may sound music that is pleasing to the ear.
(1 Pet 2:9-11).

CONCLUSION
Let us invite God into our lives and follow Him (obey His Word), so that we may experience a breakthrough which is: a life that is on course, a shaky edifice that has become solid, song of our lives that have turned into a song of joy and victory.
