FOLLOWING THE EXAMPLE OF CHRIST

2012-febr-05 | FOLLOWING THE EXAMPLE OF CHRIST|Goal

The theme of this month is taken from Micah 2:13. If we want to have a breakthrough, we should follow the example set by our Lord Jesus Christ for He is the One who breaks through.

In Mark 1:35-39 it is written, "In the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out. He went into a solitary place and prayed there.” Early in the morning talks about:

1. Priorities
Every time when we give priority to God before we start our activities, it means that we put the Lord Jesus on the first place, and that nothing in our lives can can replace Him for He is the heart of our worship. In return, God will give His priority to our lives. Don’t be like King Amaziah, who was defeated and did not experience a breakthrough because God was not the most important One to him (2 Chron 25:2,14-15,27).

2. Dare to pay the price
It is true that the salvation in Christ is for free, but for spiritual growth and breakthrough in our lives (our faith, family, business, ministry, future, etc.) there is a price we have to pay. When we dare to pay the price, God will compensate us abundantly. Our Lord does not want to be in debts, we see that, for instance, in the extraordinary experience Abraham once had with our God. Please read Genesis 22:1-3,10-14.

3. Seize the opportunity
We must seize the opportunity given to us, for such opportunity may not be repeated  again. If you are given the opportunity to pray, to attend school, to work, to serving God, to worship, then seize it as long as it is still there (Ephesians 5:14-18).

One more thing that the people of God also must consider is that "the Lord Jesus is coming again soon". Therefore, seize every opportunity that God has given to us.
(1 Pet 1:17; 1 Pet 4:4-5)

CONCLUSION
Just like Jabez who had great faith in God, he took his prayer as opportunity and he prayed ernestly. As a result, he experienced breakthrough in his life (1 Chronicles 4:9-10).
