THE YEAR OF BREAKTHROUGH 2
2012-jan-08 | THE YEAR OF BREAKTHROUGH 2|Goal
Let us turn to 1 Chron 14:11 which is the theme for the 16th anniversary of FMC and throughout the year 2012. The word BREAKTHROUGH is a verb that means “an active action to break through a barrier, an obstacle or to break through the enemy’s line”.
Initial steps for one to experience breakthrough:
1. Start with renewing your mind (Romans 12:2)
Apostle Paul said that we have to renew our mind according to the Word of God. By reading and listening to God’s Word, we know that God speaks His will, His commandments and His promises to us. That is when we can adjust our lives according to the word of God and experience breakthrough (Psalm 19:8-12)
2. Receive with faith (Hebrew 11:6)
The following step is to respond with faith. And as the children of God, faith is the only thing that enables us to find delights in Him. Hebrew11:6a says “But without faith it is imposible to please God.”
Below are some examples of breakthroughs experienced by people who received miracles by faith.
A soldier in Capernaum – Mat 8:10-13
A woman who was bleeding for 12 years – Mark 5:34.
Bartimeus – Mark 10:52.
The paralyzed in Capernaum – Mrk 2:5.
A Canaanite woman – Mat 15:28.
3. Accompanied by action (James 2:26)
Apostle John wrote, “now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments (1 John 2:3-4).
Every account of miracle that happened to these characters in the Bible was not only because of their faith but also the manisfestation of their faith through their deeds.
4. Put God in the first place (Matt 22:37-38)
So what is God’s next command for us to do as an action of faith? Jesus replied to him. “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. That is the great and first commandment.”.
CLOSING
As it is written above (in the introduction) about the word “breakthrough”, it requires a strength that goes beyond obstacle and barrier itself. Praise the Lord, the Lord Himself has given us His power so that we can experience breakthrough (Eph 6:10, Phil 4:13, 2 Tim 1:17, 1 Pet 1:15).
